You’ve Got It…

Revelation 19:16 “On his robe at his thigh was written this title: King of all kings and Lord of all lords.”

One of the things that interest me about cities is that they are always growing. No sooner has one city built the highest building then another city is building an even taller one. They just keep growing and whatever stands the tallest catches our attention.

Life can be like these cities. Every day something rises up demanding our attention. As soon as we deal with it something else jumps up craving attention. It can seem never-ending.

This is where our verse helps every day. Jesus has the words “King of all Kings and Lord of all lords” written on Him. It perfectly describes who He is and where he should be ranked in our lives.

Jesus belongs at the very apex of life. He is to hold the place above every king, above every lord and above every situation that life might try to throw at us. When Jesus is prioritized in the highest place everything in life is subdued.

So, this week, let’s shuffle our priorities around. Before life’s problems have a chance to overwhelm us let’s place Jesus at the top of our schedule rather than the bottom. Instead of trying to “fit” Him into our day let’s make Jesus the reason for our day. This simple adjustment will cause every high and haughty thing in our lives to become low. It will cause victory in our life everyday!

Your Time to Flourish…

1 Corinthians 3:6 “I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.”

Have you ever been in a circumstance where you think to yourself a third hand would be really helpful right now? It doesn’t matter what the situation, we all have times when we need help to successfully complete our assignment.

We must remember that we are each created to be dependent on other people. Every person, no matter how competent, needs help. We are each limited physically, intellectually and spiritually. That is why God created us to work with others. It is the very reason that He surrounded us with family, friends, colleagues and spiritual leaders.

As we all work together, each doing our part, an amazing thing happens. God makes that seed grow. That’s right, He is then able to make our tasks flourish, grow and produce fruit! I’m ready for that, how about you?

This week let’s set our sights on flourishing in God by finding the right people to team up with and take on life’s big challenges. This will activate the principle of growth over our lives. Once our part is done then God is able to complete His part. We will soon discover ourselves surrounded by growth. We will experience the sweet fruit of success. God will cause our lives to flourish like never before.

Love Your Future…

1 Corinthians 2:9 “…No one has ever seen, no one has ever heard, no one has ever imagined what God has prepared for those who love him.”

Have you ever visited someone’s home and smelt a roast dinner baking in the oven. Even though you have not seen, heard or even imagined that dinner there is an instantly hope you might get invited to stay and enjoy it with them.

Our verse explains that God has cooked up something very special for us. He has provided, prepared and made ready our future. He has promised a future that will eclipse our past.

Now, stop and ponder on this for a moment… God has prepared a future that is so magnificent that it is beyond anything we have ever seen, heard or even imagined. I have seen, heard and imagined some gigantic things but God says that He has tirelessly prepared something even bigger for our future. WOW!

So, how do we access this future? We are told that God has already prepared it for those who “love” him. This word “Love’ comes from the word “agape”. It means to love unconditionally and unbounded. It is how God loves us and how we should love Him.

Let the agape love of God consume you this week. If you feel you need more ask the father and He will provide and before you know it you will be walking in what God has prepared for you.

PS: In the past we sent an Encouragement on Agape Love titled “Close the Gate” You can read it again on our blog by clicking here. It will help you to understand agape love and activate it in your life.

Tell Me Again…

John 16:33 “I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have perfect peace and confidence”

When we attended school many lessons were taught by repetition. Whether it was spelling, multiplication tables or bible verses the goal was to remember them. Jesus used repetition as well. He repeated truths because He wanted us to remember them. One of these truths was peace.

This world is a place of tribulation, trials, distress and frustration. Jesus states that He has restored peace by conquering the world and depriving it of any power to harm us. Not only that, He passed on this peace as an inheritance. When we inherit peace from Jesus our life becomes very different. We apprehend a life full of good cheer, courage and confidence.

In the week ahead lets actively accept peace as our inheritance. When any tribulation, trial, distress or frustration attacks us lets stop for a moment, take a long deep breath and consider the perfect peace that Jesus provided.

Remember, He conquered the world and deprived it of any power to harm us. We have absolute right to this peace every day. It is a powerful and vital part of our inheritance so lets accept it, activate it and never forget it!

PS: In the past we sent an Encouragement called “Inheriting Peace.” You can read it again on our blog at: http://www.spiritword.com.au/blog/?p=55 It will help you understand how to receive the peace of Jesus into your life.
